Embodied Transition Design Retreat / Falay Transition Design

  • Tuomiston Kartano Oy 32 Riippiläntie Sastamala, 38100 Finland (kartta)

Join us for an intimate, transformative 3-day experience from the 14th to the 16th of April. where we will nourish our collective sense of better futures with the help of Transition design, Regenerative Leadership, and Somatic Movement Practice. By stimulating our minds, hearts, and bodies, we will explore new ways of thinking, collaborating, and dialoguing with one another in order to co-create solutions for complex systemic challenges.

The retreat is designed so that our time together is deep yet joyful, bringing clarity to ourselves about our purpose and agency, on how we can contribute towards building a more sustainable, fair, and regenerative future society.

What we will do:

During the 3 days, we will apply systemic innovation methods from Transition design, to map the wicked problems of our times (such as overconsumption or disconnection from nature, the group will choose the focus). We will get inspiration from playful, creative techniques to imagine desirable futures, and through Somative Movement Practice, we will explore our emotional reactions guided by our bodies and embody these desirable future visions. Through the Regenerative Leadership lens, we will explore how each one of us can create conditions for life to thrive in the ecosystems and networks we are part of.

After the retreat you will:

- be inspired and equipped with useful tools and methods which you can apply in your organization or community

- be connected with other like-minded professionals in the field of sustainability and regeneration

- have a deeper understanding of the complex systemic challenges of our times, and the needed transitions

This retreat is for you if you feel called for:

- take action and develop solutions for the rising complex and systemic challenges (such as social inequality, climate change, and biodiversity loss)

- learning a new approach combining analytical, creative, emotional, and physical practices.

- taking time for yourself, rejuvenating, and connecting with your truth and purpose

More about the methods that will guide the Retreat Experience:

Transition Design is an evolving discipline combining methods from transition management, system innovation, design and sustainability to identify and analyse wicked problems and establish processes and collaborations to achieve positive long-term societal transitions.

Somatic Movement Practice is a creative approach to body, movement and consciousness. Somatic movement improves human function and body-mind integration through mindful and restorative movement. We use sense and movement based exercises to open awareness and find a deeper connection with our body. Through embodied practice we strengthen our human agency and ability to connect and communicate our surroundings. The exploration of somatic practice is the relationship between our inner embodied experiences and the relation to the other, and the social systems that shape our lives.

Regenerative Leadership is a way of being and leading that aligns with the logic of life. It is about creating conditions for life to continue flourishing on Earth. Being caretakers of the Earth and seeing nature as our greatest teacher. Its principles are inspired by nature's inherent regenerative, vibrant, self-organizing, and resilient principles. Regenerative Leadership is about continuously expanding our awareness and transforming our relationship with ourselves and with the living systems, we surround ourselves with.
